A feasibility study, in our work, refers to an examination of what sort of information system is in use currently by an organization and how well it reflects its ongoing mission and strategies. This is an important aspect of controlling costs for a project, as the focus can then be directed at only those elements that need improvement. A periodic review of an information system is also an important aspect of future planning to maintain an organization's competitive advantage.
